Hello Everyone!

Oh. My. Goodness.

Maybe you saw this coming, maybe not.

Maybe you assumed I already had this going on, maybe not.

It’s taken me years to get here, but I finally created an online space to share my vintage style, home decor, and even my own online shop.  This is utterly surreal.

In Jan of this year I decided to gift myself this domain and website.  I wanted to put my ultimate dream in action-I was tired of planning things out and mapping how I would do things in my mind.  I’ve always wanted to have an “online home” where I could share my love of vintage clothing and homewares in depth and detail.  I LOVE sharing the story of every piece I find and bring home-I know I’m not the only one who loves a good “find” story!

I chose to put my dream as personal goal #1 this year because I have been yearning for a space like this for decades.

There’s been several phases in life I’ve gone through to get here.  When I was young, my parents were avid antiques collectors  and we would often travel just to go to antiques stores and auction houses.  I learned from a young age what quality workmanship was and how to spot something of value.   I’ve gone from wearing vintage in person and using these items in my everyday life, to selling it online exclusively through Etsy as The Curious Aesthetic. In 2022, I expanded to selling at in-person pop-up markets.

I’ve encountered absolutely amazing people along the way who equally share my passion (okay, obsession) with vintage both online and in person.  In the past year I noticed a certain disconnect with the online community and in-person vintage lovers.  In addition, I’ve harbored my decades-old desire to share my personal style online.  I’ve known I’ve needed to join these ideas together in a space where we can all come together and share and learn from each other.  So I’ve been laying low for the past several months figuring out how I can make this happen.

I think I’ve done it.  I’ve made my dream come true. I’m so effing proud of myself for this.

CASSANDRA ELIZABETH SILVA is my online home.  It’s me.  It’s where I share how I use vintage in my every day life whether I’m in the kitchen using handmade pottery from the 1970’s, to entertaining with handmade $44 per piece Portuguese rocks glasses that cost me $0.60 each.  I share how to incorporate pieces of clothing and jewelry for casual wear and show off my favorite finds.  Speaking of “finds” I also share the stories behind these pieces because history has always been my favorite subject.  And if that’s not enough, you can check out my online store where you can shop items directly from me in my e-commerce shop, THE CURIOUS AESTHETIC. These goods are hand-packed and shipped by yours truly.

But if that’s STILL not enough, you can check out my YouTube channel (yeah, I went there too), where I share all of these incredible things.  I even share my thrifting adventures , including the ones where I had zero business being out and about (but it was fun). And yes, I share my hauls because who doesn’t love a good haul video?!

I’m so excited.

I’ve wanted to do something like this for so long.  I’m so proud of myself and I can’t wait to share this space with you all!
